When I used Social Book Manager to delete my old posts I could see that a few percent of my posts had shared items or mentioned people whose accounts or content no longer exist. I estimated about 3% were gone.
Each day it becomes easier for people to delete old content and accounts. As more content and friends depart Facebook, there is less and less reason to stay with Facebook. It is the other side of a “network effect” that brings people together on a platform – when they leave, the ripples take the network down too.
