Edited photos and strong visuals were common among the posts by Russian agents attempting to interfere with the 2016 U.S. presidential election and other global elections.

Ostensibly, this sounds like a benefit to users but how will they handle complex topics like the following where statements are false or highly misleading? Facebook’s inability to accurately fact-check may result in bogus items receiving the “Facebook Seal of Approval”, thereby turning false propaganda memes into “facts”.
