Today, we have protests, riots, looting, arson and anarchy in many cities across the United States. I have seen (and reported to social media platforms) several fake posts from fake accounts being used to incite violence and hatred. Social media is again being used as a force for evil, unfortunately.

There are massive issues with injustice and police brutality, some of which I have written about on my tech blog.

But the riots and anarchy are occurring in part due to social media messaging. If we did not have social media, its use for coordination and the friction-less spread of misinformation by numerous parties, the current situation would likely be different.

No one is working to solve problems – only create more problems. Social media is being used to create more discord, more anger, more outrage and to spread more hate.

What problem is solved by burning and looting downtown businesses and making more people unemployed?
