Incoherent messaging – again

Incoherent messaging – again

The number of cases rising is not the metric that matters – it is the rate of change that matters.

The CDC, whose own messaging has been inconsistent, contradictory and incoherent is concerned that the public is not getting it. He blames the public for not understanding the incoherent messaging from his own agency:

CDC Director Robert Redfield said Thursday that he’s “very concerned” the agency’s public health message on the coronavirus isn’t “resonating” with the public as the number of cases continues to rise across the U.S.

I am tired of this bull shit of blaming the public for being confused when public health emits a continuous stream of incoherent and often unsupportable directives. A lot of people – including scientists and doctors – have lost faith in the CDC. This event was the sole original purpose for the CDC – everything leading up to this was for them to prepare for a pandemic – and the CDC flubbed their response from the very beginning. Combine their incoherent messaging with more incoherent statements from local and state public health authorities and we wonder why the public is confused?
