“Free speech is not an absolute human right,” says Helle Thorning Schmidt, member of Facebook’s Oversight Board and former PM of Denmark. “It has to be balanced with other human rights.”
How does that translate to content moderation? It must strike a balance, find a middle. pic.twitter.com/E5reaQ2bnk

She is a former Prime Minister of Denmark and currently sits on Facebook’s Oversight Board. She does not think Free Speech is a human right – it’s a right that can be edited, censored, modified, restricted. Or something.
Where does this go?
In the U.S., the First Amendment does not exist to protect mild speech or speech you agree with – it exists to protect speech you disagree with or which you find offensive. The answer to speech we do not like is more speech – not censorship.
