More of a pseudo shadow ban as presumably tweets will still appear in searches. But … the new Twitter will further the elite versus non-elite of the old Blue Check.

The old Blue Check was only available to persons of significance, by title, institutional affiliation, appears in the news frequently.

The new Blue Check is available to anyone that wishes to pay by the month.

Facebook is now offering a pay-to-play verified status too.
